How to find us -
The Sanctuary is situated at the far end of the Pride Park-and-Ride Car Park in Derby.

The directions below take you to that car park.
Open: Monday - Saturday 7am - 7pm. No Sunday access.


From the North (M1): Leave at junction 28 and head south on A38 to Derby, follow signs for Pride Park Stadium. Next to the stadium follow signs for Park and Ride.

From the South (M1): Leave at junction 25 and take A52 to Derby, then follow signs to Pride Park Stadium. Next to the stadium follow signs for Park and Ride.

South-West: From the M5, join the M42/A42 until you reach M1 junction 24. Follow A50 towards Derby City Centre, then follow signs to Pride Park Stadium. Next to the stadium follow signs for Park and Ride.

North-West: Leave M6 at junction 16, from Stoke-on-Trent take the A50 Stoke-Derby link road. Join A38 to Derby road,then follow signs to Pride Park Stadium. Next to the stadium follow signs for Park and Ride.

By bus from Derby.
The Park-and-Ride bus leaves Derby city centre every ten minutes or so from the mini-roundabout opposite the Council House on Corporation Street. Return ticket £1.80.

On foot or cycle: Total distance 3km
From behind Derby Council House, take the riverside cyclepath downstream for 2km, passing Bass’ Recreation Ground. At the Pride Park road bridge crossing the river turn off from river towards JJB Sports and Derby County Football Stadium. Keep the stadium to your left and at roundabout No 2 turn left, following signs to Park-and-Ride car park. Go to far end of car park to view The Sanctuary.


Note: Access is not possible onto The Sanctuary itself. All main features can be easily viewed from a number of points around the perimeter fencing, all accessible from the Park-and-Ride car park. This is open Mon-Sat 7am to 7pm, but closed on Sundays and home match days. (Map reference: SK375350).The riverside pathway itself does not give a good view up onto The Sanctuary.
