Mayor to unveil new viewing facilities
The Mayor of Derby, Councillor Roy Webb, will officially open the new viewing facilities at a ceremony in front of invited guests on Monday November 28th in the Pride Park and Ride car park. Local furniture maker Wayne Henderson has designed these exciting structures which now give excellent views out across the reserve. They are all functional, artistic and informative. Two have ramped access for wheelchair users and seating. These and other enhancements were paid by an English Nature Aggregates Levy grant.

Sanctuary wins second award.
Hot on the heels of receiving a "Green Infrastructure" award from the East Midlands Regional Agency in September, The Sanctuary project recently picked up a "Green Apple" award at a ceremony at the House of Commons on 8th November, attended by Councillor Sara Bolton.
